Right-wing Extremism Unit
In the spring of 2005, the Right-Wing Extremism Center was launched as a sub-project of the association Miteinander. Since then, the AREX staff have been important contacts for those seeking information on the subject of right-wing extremism in Saxony-Anhalt.
The Center for Right-Wing Extremism plays an advisory role in the structure of the "Advisory Network against Right-Wing Extremism" (BNW) in Saxony-Anhalt, which has been operating since mid-2007. It works closely with the other parts of the BNW (MBT Anhalt, RBT North, Central and South, Mobile Victim Counseling) as well as with the State Democracy Center (State Coordination Office).
Content tasks
The focus of its work is on analyzing developments in the right-wing extremist scene in Saxony-Anhalt and placing them in supraregional contexts. AREX collects the necessary information and prepares it for use by the advisory teams, the public and other interested parties.
These analyses, handouts and concepts form the basis for the development and discussion of sustainable counter-strategies and thus for on-site consulting activities and intervention. In this context, the continuous review of scientific work on the subject area, as well as various right-wing extremist publications and their evaluation, is the basis for well-founded analyses and training content.
