What to expect from the extreme right in Magdeburg in January 2023
Neo-Nazis at a march commemorating the destruction of Magdeburg in World War II

Every year on January 16, Magdeburg commemorates the destruction of the city during World War II. The extreme right also regularly uses the anniversary for its revisionist purposes: whether vigils, poster campaigns or "funeral marches" - neo-Nazis transfigure the victims of the bombing into martyrs and stage a commemoration of the dead in the spirit of National Socialism. In an article for the Alliance Against the Right - also to be found on our blog - we described what to expect from the extreme right this year.
