A racist pogrom that continues to have an effect today

20 years ago, the attacks of a racist mob on the Central Reception Center for Asylum Seekers and a neighboring shelter for contract workers in the Rostock district of Lichtenhagen escalated into the largest pogrom in German post-war history. The media reviews of the pogrom were rich in facts and detail. However, the context of the event in the course of 1992 was largely ignored.
